A press conference for the Daegu Photo Biennale 2006 was held on 15 March 2006 at EXCO (Daegu Exhibition & Convention Center). After the successful launching of 쁈maging Asia, a photo equipment trade fair, in conjunction with a photo competition held last March, 2005. Since the event has burgeoned into showing new round of photo festival, Daegu Metropolitan City and EXCO was confident about the renewal of the show so that it has a new name as 쁃aegu Phto Biennale.섵aegu Photo Biennale 2006 will be slated from 17 to 29 October at EXCO and several places in Daegu City. With the theme of 쏧maging Asia in Documents Daegu Photo Biennale is aiming for coloring Daegu as an international city of photo arts and equipment. Daegu International Optical Show 2006 will be held from 17 February lasting for three days at EXCO with the stages for the brands of both foreign and domestic eye wares. Around 97 companies from 9 countries including Italy, Japan, U.S.A., France are expected to participated in the fair and also around 7,000 eye wear experts are anticipated to visit. The international pavilion will be composed of around 20 new brands : ESCADA, CELINE, LOEWE from Italy, RODENSTOCK, CAZAL from Germany, RUDY from Italy, CITIZEN, MATSUDA from Japan, and K-SWISS from U.S.A. The products and brands, which have been developed with our own technology, include HUVITS, PICHINA OPTICS, INTEC, STOPTICS, HANYUNGOTS, and etc. The secretariat of DIOPS said they have been in focusing to invite buyers from Europe, America, Southeast Asia, and Middle East recommended by KOTRA instead of ones from Chinese who has comparatively low buying power. The 5th Daegu International Optical Show(DIOPS) will be in February, 2006. It has been pushed up from the regular autumn opening to February and is scheduled to be held from February 17 to 19, 2006 at EXCO(Daegu Exhibition & Convention Center).
